Piano Theory Composition
A warm welcome to Mullion Piano Studio, where you can enjoy learning to play the piano, learn theory, and/or how to compose your own music. I can also help you improve your skills if you can already play, in approaches tailored to you.
My name is Jim Aitchison, a composer, piano teacher and lecturer, with 30 years experience teaching piano, theory and composition to a variety of ages and stages.
I’m interested in whatever styles of music interest you, which can include anything from classical to Jazz, popular music, music theatre and film.
In addition to piano, I also offer tuition in music theory and composition, general music appreciation, and coaching for GCSE, A Level and undergraduate level music study, and advice and preparation for university entrance.
My qualifications are BA (hons) (music), AMusM (music composition), PGCE (Postgraduate Certificate in Education – music).
I am also a full member of the professional body for music teachers, the Incorporated Society of Musicians, and I am also DBS checked.
If you would like to find out more, please do drop me a line through the contact page, and I’m always happy to meet for an initial session to chat about what you might want to do.
